This session will be online. When you have reserved your place you will receive a Zoom link a day or two fefore the event.
In this session you will need to watch the film, The Talented Mr Ripley. In the book club we have already read the book and discussed it. So we will be talking about the book compared to the film.
The IH book club meets once a month to discuss a different work of literature. Discussions are wide ranging and and often demonstrate an interesting variety of interpretations and opinions. So far, we have read books by a wide variety of authors including George Orwell, John Steinbeck, Truman Capote and Graham Greene.
As well as the great enjoyment of reading and discussion, our members regularly comment on the benefit that they have noticed to their English studies. Getting into the habit of reading regularly in English helps greatly as it builds vocabularly and grammar and exposes us to a range of styles and registers.
